Skills Inc. employs over 450 people and our social mission is to train, employ and serve persons with disabilities through direct hire, programs and service provision.Summary The Director of Human Resources for Skills Inc. is responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction, emphasizing the mission of the organization that "Through responsible management and solid corporate partnerships, we maintain a stable, rewarding place of work, where persons with disabilities can contribute their skills." The Director's focus will encompass the areas of talent acquisition and management, employee relations, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The Director reports to the CEO and currently manages a team of ten.Corporate Leadership Responsibilities ** Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support Skills Inc.'s mission and strategic vision. ** Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting to meet the increasing and diverse human capital needs of the organization.** Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues. ** Working with Finance, propose compensation and benefits programs that are consistent with strategic initiatives. ** Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. ** Champion a culture of inclusion and diversity, making Skills Inc. a role model for best practices.** Lead all internal communication efforts regarding organizational initiatives - which include Wellness, Safety, Benefits, etc.Human Resources Team Leadership Responsibilities** Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR team creating a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Provide mentoring and coaching to generate professional and personal growth. ** Expand training efforts to support needs of Quality Management System, HR compliance, and work standardization efforts. Further develop disability awareness training. Develop activities and policies associated with leadership and professional development.** Ensure documentation of HR processes and policies, including benefits program, so they are readily available to supervision and all employees as appropriate. Communicate updates and changes in HR policies to all employees. ** Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the organization. Included in this area, but not limited only to, would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development. ** Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. In particular, manage the human resource information systems database and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the organization. ** Work in concert with Vocational Services staff to ensure success of vocational client assessments, placement, and retention activities. Provide support to Aerospace Internship Program that provides a pathway for employment to youth with disabilities.** Expand accessibility and accommodation for the growing number of deaf and hard of hearing employees at Skills Inc. through utilization of ASL interpreters and assistive technology.** Manage the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources Department. Education/ Work Experience: ** 10+ years of progressively responsible human resource experience, including executive/leadership roles as well as managing the HR team.** Experienced with organizational design and change management initiatives.** Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills required. ** Previous experience in Manufacturing or within a regulatory environment highly desired.** Proven success with budgeting, information gathering and analysis. ** Experience with a variety of technology tools (HRIS, HR tools, MS Suite, for example).** BS/BA required; MBA/MA/SPHR preferred.Skills Inc. is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWages DOE.
