Responsible for developing quantitative/analytic models and applications in support of the firm's strategic efforts to increase revenue or mitigate risk. Able to work independently on complex modeling projects and influence strategic direction. The quantitative focus of this role is creating analytical methods and models that assess the market, credit and/or operational risk, and revenue lift of new and existing financial products. Often consults with practitioners, the academic community, and other financial institutions in researching the development of models for new and existing products. Responsible for developing various analytic models including sensitivity analysis, stress testing, value-at-risk, scenario testing, and Monte Carlo simulations. This role often possesses an advanced degree in physics, applied mathematics, statistics/probability or another heavy quantitative discipline. Quantitative analytic staff is focused on and responsible for the development of the theory and mathematics behind various models. Has the ability to manage a team of quantitative analysts.

Leverage knowledge of consumer, GWIM and commercial/business bank segments and data to develop categorization approach, contents and SAS/SQL logic for BOLT, THOR and non-financial event databases. Will work as part of larger team jointly developing BOLT (Commercial THOR), enhancing THOR and promoting use of IX data within GWIM/ML organization. Work will be varied with some very quick turn around analytics as well as multi-month segmentation/categorization efforts to organize transaction data. Will also work to validate and improve current data structures and in general help unlock the value hidden in the bank's transaction data sources for the benefit of our customers, analysts throughout the organization and our shareholders.
Qualifications

  • Required Skills: "Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified.
SAS, SQL, experience with financial services ad hoc analytics and research design/methodology, ability to operationalize world of commerce into discrete/meaningful data categories and structures, extreme attention to detail, patience and tenacity, ability to work with minimal guidance, self-motivated but most important of all -- a team player.
