Robert Half Technology is seeking a Jr. Software QA Engineer for an established Eastside client focused on the design and development of innovative technology solutions for the automotive industry.

Primary Responsibilities:
Represent QA in product development projects as a cross-functional team member.
Participate in requirements / specification / design reviews, being the voice of the customer and the QA team.
Participate with peers in test / project planning and scheduling of QA related activities.
Perform test design for assigned features and products.
Participate in developing testing strategies.
Perform test execution and evaluate test results for product development projects and other testing activities that the QA team is responsible for.
Participate in defect management submission, triaging, investigation, verification.
Assist in mentoring and growing junior team members.
Promote quality and best practices internally to QA and cross-functionally.
Participates in quality related, QA internal and cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
Flexibly own and execute other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree Engineering / CS / etc.
4-5+ years of experience in a Software Quality Assurance capacity in product development environments, or 6+ years of combined experience in product development environments with at least 3 years of direct QA experience.
Proficiency and understanding of QA methodologies and principles, and how delivering products efficiently and predictably with a high degree of quality can be achieved.
Understanding of and experience with various SDLC processes and how various QA activities and quality-centered best practices fit into such product development lifecycles.
Proven track record to perform a vast variety of Quality Assurance activities, such as planning QA activities, developing testing strategies, providing input into requirements / specification / design, performing sound test design, test execution, test automation, and evaluating test results, including defect management.
Proven ability to perform sound test design from well defined as well as poorly defined requirements and specifications, and how to arrive at a limited set of test cases that satisfy coverage, efficiency and test design effectiveness.
Experience with and participated in QA task estimations and developing QA schedules/plans.
Experience developing testing strategies that go beyond just utilizing the UI, such as data-driven testing, utilizing and defining tools, stubs, test harnesses, etc.
Ability to understand complex customer solutions, including associated requirements, specifications, and design, in order to provide meaningful feedback with respect to accurateness, usability, quality, and testability.
Technical aptitude and ability to conceptualize complex technical systems that are highly integrated with 3rd party solutions in order to develop testing strategies that are effective and efficient without relying solely on the end-to-end eco-system.
Ability to influence others in order to drive and promote quality and best practices across functional boundaries.
Experience with cross-functional environments and ability to work with PM, Dev, Support, etc., in order to effectively represent quality assurance as a discipline and to elevate QA as a team of cross-functional equality.

Passion for and general aptitude to continue growing in the QA space.
Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with attention to detail.

Comfortable working in fast-paced product delivery environments with passion for efficient and effective structures and processes.
Flexible with ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience with CMM, ISO, etc., a plus.
End-user and technical understanding of mobile solution/OSs such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc., a plus.
Experience with testing mobile/cellular solutions and/or embedded systems a plus.
Experience testing SDKs, APIs, a plus.
Exposure to test automation particularly in the mobile handset industry and/or embedded systems a plus.
Basic programming and/or scripting skills a plus.
Experience working with remote teams and partners with respect to QA activities a plus
