MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to install, repair, troubleshoot, and test electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls for industrial and technical equipment in 76 MXSS.

Troubleshoot problem areas and inspect for defective equipment and faulty wiring.

Use and maintain various types of hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, solding irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines to accomplish work.

Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (

WG-08)

or equivalent. Specialized experience must include

installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and modifying power distribution systems. Planning the layout and working details of assigned jobs from blueprints, sketches, or general instructions. Troubleshooting problem areas and inspecting defective equipment and faulty wiring. Using and maintaining various types of power tools.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used in shop and trade practices, and of electrical equipment.

Knowledge of technical practices in order to plan, lay out, install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of complex systems.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and trace hard-to-locate defects or problems.

Ability to use electrical drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems.

Skill in using and maintaining hand tools such as, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, stripers, cable pullers, drills, soldering irons, and manual or power conduit benders and threaders.

Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

:

Physical Demands:
Position requires constant walking, crawling, bending and stooping (not to exceed two hours); dexterity in use of hands and fingers, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally 75 pounds.

Climbing to heights up to 70 feet on ladders, scaffolding, cranes and catwalks. Must be able to distinguish basic colors and have good depth perception.

Working Environment:
Works in and around shop areas, subject to exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, gasses, and oils. Danger from contact with high voltage, electrical shock, scrapes, and bruises. Works inside and outside and is subject to extremes of weather. Required to wear personal protective safety equipment as described by governing directives.

Other Significant Facts:
Incumbent provides single point of contact for assigned duties.

May be required to work any shift and/or nonstandard workweek.

The nature of the assignment requires work in 63 facilities throughout Tinker AFB.

May be required to travel to other government or contractor facilities to accomplish mission requirements. Assignments require varying length of time to complete. May be required to possess a valid operator’s license in order to drive a motor vehicle.

This position requires employee to recognize the continued operation of equipment supported by this Division; consequently, incumbent may be required to work overtime and is subject to call back at any time day, night, or weekends.

May be required to support other sections or branches from time to time as directed by Supervisor.
