The purpose of this position is to determine SAS policy, design/manage the SAS infrastructure, and serve as the definitive reference for general SAS knowledge on any assigned projects in the EMSPIC research division. In addition, this position will serve as the primary analyst, designer, and developer for SAS related technologies on assigned projects. Finally, this position will provide quality assurance and testing expertise to ensure assigned SAS projects meet all quality standards, project requirements, and customer support needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The analyst band requires a foundation of knowledge and skills in area of specialization generally obtained from graduating from a four-year college or university with nine semester hours in programming and one year of experience in business application consulting or development. Experience in the field of work related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Special note: This position may exclusively require a bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the specific functions of the job. Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Experience in SAS programming is required.
Experience working with SQL in a production environment, interfacing SAS with one more databases (such as SQL , Oracle or Teradata) and a working knowledge of SAS / GRAPH and SAS Data Quality Server are highly desired. Should be comfortable in a Unix environment and have experience in both working with large datasets (millions of rows) and in preparing datasets for statistical analysis. Experience in LaTeX text formatting and working with healthcare or EMS data is preferred.
