Telecommunications Engineer
Raytheon - Dulles, VA
Augment a mission focused team by providing infrastructure, networking, and IT support on our program at a customer site in Williamsburg, Virginia. Candidate will work will a small dynamic group to maintain computers, and work with systems that vary from telecommunications to video surveillance. Perform assembly, test and repair of fiber optic systems. Perform light fabrication and machine work, conduct functional and acceptance test procedures, and interface with customers on an occasional basis. Occasional compensated overtime will be required to meet customer deadlines. Candidate will be joining a team exposed to some of the most satisfying and coolest work in the country.

Requiremens: · 4+ years experience working with/managing computer networks with existing TS/SCI/Poly clearance
· Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment assembling and testing fiber optic and electronic equipment
· Experience with modern fiber optic and electronic test equipment such as Optical Time Domain Reflectometers, Optical Power Meters, Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Digital Communication Analyzers and test sets
· Willingness to occasionally perform interesting duties outside his or her area of expertise in order to meet time-critical surge requirements.
· Ability to work closely with customer technical personnel on time-critical projects with changing requirements.
Desired Skills: · Previous experience installing and bringing online commercial fiber optic telecommunication systems.
· Experience troubleshooting fiber optic circuits and locating faults in a commercial environment.
Required Education (including Major): · B.S. degree with technical major. May substitute substantial experience for education (BS degree = 8 years applicable experience)
