Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico, Department of Psychiatry Center for Rural and Community Behavioral Health (CRCBH) is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CRCBH is to address health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures within New Mexico communities. CRCBH is seeking a Community Based Research Specialist to work, under indirect supervision, on a variety of community-based research projects. Current projects include working with: - Individuals experiencing their first episode of a psychotic illness - People diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia - Individuals who have been exposed to trauma, mental illness and substance abuse - Women and families dealing with post-partum pregnancy issues and depression This position will serve as the project lead on certain studies. Specific duties include: oversee components of projects such as, study recruitment and eligibility; guide study implementation and logistics, to include fiscal management; oversee evaluation, data collection, entry and quality assurance; assist with study reporting, regulatory and project compliance; meeting facilitation; research and evaluation interviews and assessment administration; community outreach, and more. This position will work directly with clients and families, and will be responsible for working across various UNM and community systems. This is a high-energy position with a great deal of responsibility that requires: the ability to see both the big picture and attend to smaller details, assertiveness, patience, organizational and communication/relationship building skills. This position requires compassion, resourcefulness, follow-through and flexibility. This position also requires a great deal of independent and team work. This is a benefits eligible position. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description. OR Master's degree; at least 6 months of experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with people with serious mental illness Community-based and/or clinical research and regulatory experience Project implementation and administrative experience Experience leading teams Experience with outreach and training
