Responsible for operations and maintenance in a rotating shift environment of the Guam Remote Ground Terminal. Assists Site Engineer and Site Management in the planning, scheduling and overseeing all maintenance, preventive maintenance, engineering change work and software/firmware upgrades activities.
Performs routine, non-routine and complex assignments involving GRGT Ground Communications Electronic (GCE) systems related to daily-shift operations and maintenance activities in support of spacecraft operations.
Oversees and coordinates shift-crew work schedules and activities including assessing task requirements, objectives, priorities, and resolves problems and conflicts. Assisted by lower level technicians, oversees and conducts operational system adjustments, preventive and corrective maintenance actions, and evaluates equipment performance.
Identifies and troubleshoots system problems, conducts tests using all types of instruments, analyzes results to restore systems, improve performance, and documents and reports results.
Provides a positive leadership image to personnel as well as coaches and motivates teams. Ensures workplace and personnel safety by identifying and mitigating risks and intervenes to prevent mishaps.
Implements and ensures adherence to operational, maintenance and organizational procedures and policies.
Ensures secure and positive control of critical resources.
Reviews, edits and recommends changes to related technical and process documentation. Coordinates training activities, conducts OJT, certifies lower level technicians.
Monitors technical and professional performance and acts quickly to correct deficiencies. Reports to and advises GRGT management on all related operational, technical and personnel matters.
JOB LOCATION: GRGT/Guam Naval Base Required Experience: 8+ Years directly related experience w/ Associate's Degree
Two years technical training at an accredited school (4 years of related experience can be substituted for 2 years of technical training) plus a minimum of 8-10 years of related experience.
Experience working 24x7 rotating shift. Ability to work on a remote assignment and possess the ability to get along with co-workers in a small working environment.
Preferred: An Associate of Science degree in electrical, computer or networks engineering technology. Knowledge of NASA SN and TDRS operations and maintenance is a plus.
Proficient in MS Management Products and tools.
Experience in network administration.
Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix, Remedy, Maximo, and AutoCAD.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Secrurity Clearance; Active is preferred.
