The position is responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of critical path schedules for all planning, design and construction projects using Primavera software. The position works with Physical Facilities and Physical and Capital Planning to establish planning parameters for future project delivery that is consistent with Purdue’s Ten Year Capital Plan. The position develops and maintains a consistent project coding structure to ensure milestone/activities for future, active and completed projects at a level of detail that supports project planning, project management, resource management, risk analysis, performance measures, and reporting needs for projects in Physical Facilities and Physical and Capital Planning. The position creates and establishes schedule options and baselines consistent with project goals and adds activity relationships, i.e., start-to-start, start-to-finish, finish-to-start and finish-to-finish for Client Management, Project Management and Construction analysis for projects in planning, design and construction. The position, in partnership with the In-House Department project managers, design teams and their supervisor, work on a daily/weekly basis to create and maintain a balance of staff availability on projects with the required time constraints. In addition, this position trains project managers, job captains and others as required in the use of the scheduling systems to create layouts, filters, etc. to customize their specific projects using Primavera Project Manager, Primavera Timesheets, PrimaveraWeb and Primavera Contract Manager.
Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction, Engineering Management Technology, Building Construction Management Technology or related field.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
Two years of planning, design and construction project scheduling.
Knowledge of building delivery systems, construction methods, planning, design and construction scheduling and project management experience.
Ability to create scheduling logic, baselines and critical path networks.
Ability to establish, manage and understand specific project responsibilities regarding Client Management, Project Management and Construction Management.
Ability to interpret and apply schedule updates.
Capable of making informed decisions regarding software use and changes to work breakdown structures.
Word processing, spreadsheet development as well as database experience.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Primavera and/or Microsoft Project software and application experience.
University project scheduling experience.
A Background Check will be required for employment in this position.
