The physical therapist assistant (PTA) assists the physical therapist in the provision of physical therapy. The PTA may perform specific components of physical therapy interventions that have been selected by the physical therapist. The PTA must demonstrate skills needed to treat age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics. The PTA coordinates care with other health care providers within the hospital.
Graduate of a physical therapist assistant program and must have received an associate degree as a physical therapy assistant.
Current PTA licensure in the State of Georgia.
Current CPR certification.
