EHS - Health, Safety, Environmental and Risk Director for Metal ManufacturingOur client needs a sharp EHS Director to become a member of the corporate management team. The right individual will have a thorough understanding of EHS - Envioronmental, Health and Safety requirements including regulatory and compliance. This person will need to be familiar with today's current manufacturing techniques and EHS with all the lean concepts, team empowerments, and waste elimination in a metal/steel based manufacturing environment. This company has continuously profited and offers a dynamic and professional work environment.Job Function Provide technical and professional support regarding applicable EHS regulations and issues throughout the corporation and ensure regulatory and corporate compliance via established auditing processes and risk analysis. Provide the leadership to develop and implement programs, plans and procedures for meeting and exceeding Safety &H ealth Performance goals, including OSHA, Toxic Substances Control, Federal and State rules and regulations, NFPA. Lead hazard assessment activities including Process Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis. Develop, coordinate, and implement appropriate Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Process Safety Programs and necessary related training. Provide input and give direction to management on critical Health and Safety issues and develop strategic directions. Facilitate and coordinate EHS HSE committee activities and community liaison. Develop, implement and test emergency response plans and keep them current. Liaison with all functional areas within the company to assure Safety, Security, Physical and Environmental and asset conservation issues are fully understood and executed. Assure EHS HSE record keeping system provides timely reporting both internally and to external agencies. Manage EHS HSE projects and programs in a cost-effective manner. Participate as an auditor in the Corporate HSE audit program. Attend training and seminars necessary to maintain proficiency in EHS HSE skills and knowledge. Assist with managing the facility security.
EHS - Health, Safety, Environmental and Risk Director for Metal Manufacturing Bachelors Degree, Occupational Safety & Health major preferred, however BS in Engineering or Business related discipline will be acceptable Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable. Minimum five years manufacturing environment experience, preferably as an EHS Manager or EHS Director or leading Environmental and Safety effot in a metallic or steel industry in a safety capacity. Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA & NFPA requirements and related guidelines Goal-oriented individual with well-developed communication, organizational and computer skills. Must be self-starter who works well independently or in a team environment. Must be able to deal with regulatory representatives and outside parties in a professional manner. Experience in training and facilitating. Experienced in developing and implementing site safety, environmental and security programs. Expert knowledge of workers compensation insurance and property protection insurance requirements. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and TS 16949 Strong analytical and project management skills.
