Misericordia University is accepting applications for the position of Director of the Women with Children Program. Established in 2000, the Women with Children Program is designed for academically qualified single mothers of all ages, providing them with the opportunity to attend classes while living on the Misericordia campus, with their children. The program has seen graduates pursue successful careers in nursing, education, communications, occupational therapy, social work, medical imaging, psychology, business administration and speech-language pathology.

The Director will maintain and enhance the Women with Children Program including, but not limited to, coordinating program offerings, recruiting participants, engaging community support, and developing avenues of financial support. This position will also provide a presence in the programs residences, develop a rapport with participants, and foster a sense of community in the program.

A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field and a minimum of six years of experience in program planning, development/fundraising, and implementation are required. Qualified candidates must also have experience in financial management, grant research, and proposal writing as well as experience cultivating and maintaining productive long-term relationships. Familiarity with nonprofit and philanthropic sectors is preferred. Experience working with, advising, and/or mentoring traditional and nontraditional students in a college/university environment is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience may be considered.

Computer proficiency and experience with the Internet, email, and basic computer software programs in a Windows environment, including word processing and spreadsheet software, are essential. This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend hours and some travel will be required.
