Palo Alto Networks, the network security company, is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to manage global logistics in support of sales and post sales strategy in a rapidly growing company with customer presence in over 80 countries (and growing). The individual will report to the Director of Manufacturing Operations.
This is a global position encompassing multiple responsibilities. The individual must have a forward-thinking, strategic leadership vision on how to set the goals to support the ever changing needs of our customers. Additionally, the individual must have operational and tactical focus to optimize the logistic efficiencies globally. The individual will work closely with Operations, Finance, Global Customer Support and Sales understanding the Global business strategy and expansion plans to create timely, cost-effective import/export supply chains.
The Individual will be responsible for handling all details of international transportation—multiple modes, complex documentation, and varying customs regulations, developing distribution strategies, and building relationships with logistics intermediaries. Individual will serve as a troubleshooter, dealing with problems inherent in moving freight long distances. The individual will be responsible for the set up and management of Domestic and International Depots holding replacement inventory in multiple global locations to support next business day and 4 hour on site replacement.

Key Duties
Set up and management of all Global Depots required to support next business day & 4 Hour delivery of advance replacement units to support customer service level agreements
Develops logistics strategies and processes for entering new locations on a global basis
Contract negotiations with all carriers and 3PL Partners
Manages the performance of international carriers and logistics intermediaries
Evaluate trade-offs between transportation costs, inventory costs, and service levels
Develop, document, implement and improve logistics processes and procedures
Track transportation savings, ensuring attainment of all productivity and cost out objectives; perform analysis and make recommendations to Management for improvements
Develop and maintain peer relationships in order to achieve Palo Alto Networks objectives and customer expectations.
Train operational customers (internal & external) on transportation and logistics processes and initiatives to increase awareness and compliance
Manage EDI/XML based information sharing
Manage standardized, repeatable processes, data and analytical models for each region globally
Manage freight audits and review all invoices to ensure accuracy and prompt payment
Development of data solutions to support reporting automation and information visibility
Resolve customs related issues
Familiar with a wide variety of supply chain concepts, practices and procedures
Establish logistics dashboard to monitor performance and cost of Palo Alto Networks logistics operations
International Trade Responsibilities
Work with the Trade Compliance/Legal Team to apply the rules and regulations of U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS), International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), amongst others
Ensure compliance with applicable federal laws and foreign regulations, governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products
Required Skills
Experience in international logistics (customs regimes, import/export, tax, international banking issues, and contractual implications)
Experience working with international freight forwarders
Experience working with large parcel carriers (e.g. UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.)
Basic knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and classification experience
Intimate knowledge of industry best practices (warehousing/logistics/transportation)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; detail oriented; ability to handle multiple tactical and strategic assignments
Awareness and appreciation of different cultures; diplomatic
Excellent PC/application skills MS Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point, Visio, etc.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years experience in international trade compliance, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
