The Cashier performs all functions in cafeteria. May be responsible to cashier, cook, serve, restock and clean. Responsible for cash drawer and following all cash deposit procedures including preparing daily deposits to be sent to the bank. Responsible for assuring proper portion sizes and using proper serving utensils and dishes. Prepares juices, beverages, and food products for cafeteria. These items are to be prepared in the prescribed manner and are to be eye-appealing. Maintains line and work stations, assuring stations are clean, stocked, and that proper sanitation is observed in the prescribed manner.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Ability to read at an 8 th grade level and perform mathematical computations at a 6 th grade level, as documented by successfully passing a math and reading test. Must have the ability to count change and operate cash register. Good interpersonal skills are essential due to contact with Nursing personnel, Nutrition Services staff and other hospital staff. Work requires the ability to read, write, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. Must have the ability to concentrate with moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions.
