The Director, Programming will join the Nickelodeon Digital Content & Programming team, responsible for managing new and existing content platforms (e.g., Nick.com, SpongeBob.com, Nick@nite.com , mobile sites, Windows 8, content apps, and more.). Reporting to the Vice President, Content & Programming in the Nickelodeon Digital team, this role will primarily manage the content rollout for Nick Digital. This role will have oversight of programming and placement of content across all sites and platforms across Nick Digital. This role will be responsible for all promotional plans and provide leadership support in delivering programming strategies as well as experimenting in new ways of promoting content. This will entail working closely with the traffic team, analyzing and monitoring content metrics across platforms. This role will also provide recommendations on how to to attract and retain users.
•Oversee digital content promotion on all Nickelodeon platforms (e.g., Nick.com, SpongeBob.com, Nick@nite.com , mobile sites, Windows 8, content apps, and more.).
•Create, maintain, and distribute a weekly programming schedule and longer range calendar.
•Coordinate with various internal teams to create & gather content assets
•Analyze metrics and develop expertise in content performance
•Develop and execute programming strategies to maximize viewership
•Perform scheduling updates within content management system as needed
•Review all promotional design and optimize based on content type
•Work with on air and multiplatform programming to create schedules that are strategically in sync
•Work with Content & Programming team members to create consistent digital updates
•Maintain consistent and accurate Brand Voice as guided by VP, Content & Programming
•Contribute new programming ideas, and stay on top of industry trends
•Guide one direct report, Programming Manager
•5 -7+ years working in a digital, mobile and/or programming environment
•Hands on experience in media planning or managing digital content
•Hands on experience in promotional planning of digital sites (Online or mobile).
•Proven experience working closely with traffic teams on tracking content and providing recommendations on properties.
•Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs & knowledgeable about digital layout and content.
•Any experience working in a television network environment is a plus.
•Must be very detail oriented
•Must have strong written and oral communication skills
•Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•Ability to think strategically and creatively
•Any experience in Media Planning for Digital is a plus
