Under the direction of the AVP of collections, responsibilities for performing a variety of complex activities regarding delinquent accounts. This position requires in-depth knowledge of collection systems, Insurance programs, reporting requirements (internal and external), deposit accounts, loan documentation and return items. In addition, this position requires knowledge and understanding of legal actions for all motor vehicles, money actions, mortgage loans, business loans, Visa, and deposit accounts, and bankruptcy issues. . Required to work collaboratively with auction houses, attorneys, and collection agencies.
1.Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, and post secondary coursework in office procedures.
2.Three to five years in a high volume collections and/or loan servicing environment, with at least one year in a legal collections capacity, preferably a retail financial institution which includes skip tracing, Replevin, bankruptcy, and mortgage processes.
3.Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for projecting a positive image as representative for the Credit Union.
4.Work requires knowledge of the legal processes involved in the collection of delinquent accounts, collection laws and practices relating to Consumer Loans, including The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Wisconsin Consumer Act, and the Credit Practices Rule.

7.Requires judgment to solve day-to-day problems but within established guidelines.
8.Work requires basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, and more advanced knowledge of Excel and data bases and data base querying.
