Associate's degree or completion of technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience.
Minimum six years of design experience with AutoCad and 3D modeling experience developing energy, oil, gas or petrochemical industry drawings. Bachelor’s degree can substitute for four years of experience. Or AA in disciplinary field can substitute for two years of experience. Or equivalent qualifying experience.
Proficient in civil/structural drafting, design and 3D modeling.
Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
Must have (or be able to obtain) TWIC card and OSHA basic safety training.
Will be required to occasionally travel to plants and assist with obtaining information on existing plant facilities.
Must assist lead designers or engineers to make field sketches, take dimensions, etc., and climb ladders, stairs and piperacks at these locations.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position involves the development, design, drafting and modeling of CAD based civil/structural drawings for the energy, oil, gas and petrochemical industry projects.
Successful candidate will:
Interface with lead designers of other disciplines, engineers and project personnel for coordination and scope data related to assigned work.
May recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification.
Plan work for junior drafters.
Produce complex technical drawings.
Prepare working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product.
Prepare and assemble project deliverables.
Review equipment vendor data information to develop engineering detailed drawings.
