Coordinate requests from Construction Contractor and Client.
Attend and record Construction Management, QC/QA, Safety, Environmental, Cultural Resources meetings.
Provide submittal review/analysis and recommendations. Maintain files in CMS.
Provide construction schedule review/analysis for schedules up to 2000 activities.
Provide safety plan and activity hazard analysis review and notes/comments/recommendations.
Update and present construction project status reports and Construction Representative Reports (CRRs).
Monitor construction work for compliance with contract documents.
Provide Quality Assurance (QA) of the adequacy of the construction contractor’s QC program and tasks.
Report and document instances of non-compliance with QC.
Monitor compliance with environmental protection requirements.
Review contractor submitted Environmental Protection Plan submittals. Ensure security issues shall be brought to the immediate attention of government representative.
Monitor construction surveying, materials and system testing.
Assist in the preparation of contract modifications. Provide Claims and Delays Analysis (for claims up to $250K).
Maintain working files by construction contract of reports and correspondence and update CMS. Manage RFI's.
Review contractor’s GIS data base for As-Builts to ensure contract compliance with GIS requirements for underground utilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
You need to be a graduate of an accredited college or university with AA in Engineering Technology or Construction Management and 5 years of construction experience OR (2) have 10 years of construction experience performing the tasks listed.
Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies or other recognized group is desirable.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience in maintaining official construction site records.
Proven experience in conducting meetings to resolve construction project problems and briefing clients and management staff.
In-depth knowledge of construction practices and workmanship.
Deep experience interpreting construction drawings and specs. projects.
Experience in making materials take-offs for construction work.
Ability and experience in materials inspection, workmanship and construction and installation of within inspector’s area of expertise.
Knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry, including USACE (EM -385-1-1) and OSHA safety requirements.
Local candidates preferred, as relocation is not available for this position.
