Tier 3 Multi-media/Tech Support Engineer Aereo -

We have a need for an energetic analyst for a high profile start-up in the MultiMedia area. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of production by troubleshooting of complex problems at the system level to the element level. You will be responsible for establishing statistical trends, root cause analysis, and operational statistical quality control. You should have insatiable curiosity in consumer devices, delivery systems and computing elements that has provided you ability to rapidly triage complex system issues, and then to direct appropriate resources to resolve these issues.
You will be also be responsible for metric development and implementation for production sites, including maintenance and tuning of the production system. In this position you will work closely with QA Engineering and Software Developers, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reliability. An ideal candidate will have grown from Software QA, with a desire to work at the service delivery system level.
Technical and managerial responsibilities will include monitoring, troubleshooting, support, and training. Will assist with debugging software and provide feedback to development. Will require work outside of normal business hours. Position is located in Brooklyn, NY with travel to Boston, MA.
Our Requirements:
5+ years of strong background in Software Quality Assurance or Tier 3 support
2+ years experience with production video delivery systems or cable systems
Expertise in data networking protocols
Experience at the troubleshooting with any of the following is a plus: Linux (admin), Python, Ruby MySQL queries
BS or MS in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology
