The position has both administrative and academic responsibilities. Administrative responsibilities (approximately 50%) include, but are not limited to, serving as the department’s budget administrator, ensuring that university policies are implemented, promoting collegiality and collaboration among department personnel, and conducting annual reviews of faculty. Travel may be required in order to serve on local, regional or national committees or to assist with the investigation of new academic programs or other initiatives that will promote the department. Academic responsibilities include maintaining a half-time teaching load (2 courses) in the discipline of the individual’s area of expertise, and serving as an academic advisor, with an adjusted 50% load.
Minimum Education Requirements
Candidates must have an earned doctorate with appropriate licensure and certification within one of the professional fields represented in the Applied Health Sciences Department.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in an academic setting and demonstrate evidence of teaching experience and scholarly activities.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Experience as a department chair or other academic leadership or administrative experience is preferred.
