Sales Director
BreakingPoint Systems, Inc. - Austin, TX
In this position, you will manage all phases of customer account development for a particular vertical target market or group of accounts. You will help to attain aggressive sales goals by working directly with your AVP and Sales Engineers, while leveraging other available resources.

Reports To: AVP of Sales

Responsibilities:
Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity and marketing initiatives
Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
Collaborate with current and potential customers to define critical business issues, planning, and deployment of Ixia BreakingPoint products and services
Prepare and present sales presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
Maintain opportunities in Ixia BreakingPoint’ existing CRM systems. Maintenance will include pipeline management, next step planning and a thorough knowledge of the CRM system
Continue education about Ixia BreakingPoint products, services, and solutions
Establish and maintain current and potential customer relationships
Customize global sales strategy to a particular vertical target market to maximize sales potential
Prepare a variety of status reports as assigned
Communicate new product/service opportunities and customer feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff
Participate in marketing activities such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events
Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services
Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees

Required Skills:
Outstanding communication and time management skills
Ability to respond to RFI and RFP requests, coordinating with appropriate corporate resources
Ability to build ROI business and pricing models
Ability to craft and target messaging from the C-Level down throughout the organization. Working knowledge of network test equipment, application test and application
Professional appearance and the ability to provide a positive company image
Work requires significant travel to current and potential customer sites

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required
10+ years of sales and/or marketing experience within the IT security, networking equipment, network test environment or application test industries
Experience selling into large Service Provider or Network Equipment Manufacturer accounts, preferred
