The position is responsible to compile, sort, and verify documents (bank account reconciliation, bills, invoices, wires, etc.), perform accounting functions including account reconcilement ensuring proper application of funds, research and resolution discrepancies. Assist in the preparation and posting of recurring, standard monthly journal entries, oversee the compiling of segments for month end close, reports and daily account reconciliations. Prepares standard and specialized reports including balance sheet and income statements. Analyze moderately complex financial reports and records and makes recommendations relative to the accounting reserves, assets and expenditures. Reconciles and adjusts various general ledger accounts and bank statements for reporting purposes. Ensures accurate and complete processing within Service Level Agreements. Communicates with customers to find, fix and solve queries as well as responsible for escalating issues and follow-up with management as necessary. Responsible for the Management reconciliation Certification (MRC) process and retention of proper documentation. Comply with Western Union Internal policies and applicable regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance of instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively and properly to customers.
Understand processes and systems related with the department daily activities and business requirements.
