Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana is seeking an Individual Sales Representative . This position is responsible for responding to a high volume of telephone inquiries regarding purchasing Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana insurance products for individuals, senior markets, and groups. This position will promote and sell the products and services of BCBSMT as well as investigate and resolve customer complaints. This position is also responsible for supporting all senior product and individual plan sales, inquiry, compliance for internal staff, sales representatives, and our program partners.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond to telephone inquiries regarding the purchase of BCBSMT products by determining the insurance needs of the prospect, explaining the products, and selling the most appropriate plan to the customer.
Perform follow-up when necessary after the initial contact with the prospect in order to answer any questions and finalize the sale.
Maintain accurate sales and conservation records.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Sales Representatives, assisting them with product knowledge, supplies, and processes as necessary.
Meet and/or exceed all quality, quantity, and timeliness standards.
Contact canceled subscribers via telephone and by letter to achieve retention goals.
Conserve canceled business by offering alternate products or resolving customer concerns regarding current products.
Maintain updated knowledge and understanding of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana insurance products, insurance legislation, and administrative rules and how these impact team and corporate processes.
Coordinate Medicare Parts C and D sales activities.
Assist in implementation and launch of the annual open enrollment activities.
Education and/or Experience:
Three years’ advanced education in a related field and three years’ health insurance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess current Montana Insurance Producer’s license or have the ability to obtain one within three months of hire.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills of Interest:
Professional customer service experience in an office environment.
One to two years’ individual and Medicare sales experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Medicare Part C & D training & certification desirable
