Basic Function:Sells designated manual and automatic powder systems to prospects and existing customers in assigned territory. Territory will be South Dakota, Nebraska, Western Iowa, Western Missouri and Kansas. Maintains regular interface with all associated distributors, customer service representatives and Zone Manager.Specific Responsibilities:1. Sells at a level equal to, or greater than, the territory sales budget. Major selling activities include:a. Qualifying leads and prospectsb. Equipment demonstrationsc. Testing for proper applicationc. Surveying field application e. Preparing and presenting proposals and project justificationsf. Closing the sale2. Develop an industry network to increase territory awareness3. Ensures the proper installation and start-up of all systems through proper utilization of technical personnel and personnel from ancillary equipment suppliers.4. Ensures that Customer Service Representative is fully briefed on all aspects of new installations and the account responsibility has been effectively transferred.5. Coordinates the training of customer personnel in proper use, maintenance and service of equipment.6. Develops Third Party references through follow-up calls on existing customers.7. Maintains detailed knowledge of Nordson products, prices, policies and procedures.8. Knows which products can be most advantageously used with various finishing and coating products.9. Maintains awareness of competitive products and advises supervisor of competitors' activities.10. Provides customer service in emergency situations.11. Assists in training of other employees as assigned.12. Prepares and promptly submits administrative and technical reports as directed.13. Maintains personal appearance, test equipment and vehicle in a professional manner.14. Maintains detailed and accurate customer files.15. Ability to travel 3 to 4 nights per week.16. Performs other duties as assigned
Education:Bachelor's of Science degree. Experience:Minimum of 3 years successful experience in sales, preferably in the finishing industry, capital equipment, or a closely related field. Knowledge and Skills:1. Demonstrated sales skills2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills3. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint presentations4. Manufacturing background is required5. Ability to make professional presentations to large groups of people6. Ability to travel 3 to 4 nights per week
