This is a full-time permanent position in the Division of Academic Affairs reporting to the Executive Director of Library Services. The Librarian 1 is responsible for the daily management of circulation services including supervision of the Circulation Assistant, circulation related training, staff development and scheduling of all staff.
Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS/MSIS) from an American Library Association accredited Library School.
Two (2) years' experience in an academic library setting with a knowledge of Circulation procedures preferred; however, one (1) year of experience in an academic library (or other library) setting may be considered with demonstrated proficiency.
Supervisory experience is desirable.
A background check is required of the successful candidate.
Knowledge & Abilities
Knowledge of cataloging materials in all formats including electronic resources.
Knowledge and abilities including previous use of Microsoft Office and/or other word processing applications is highly desired.
Knowledge of an integrated library system.
Skills in various computer databases and other electronic, Internet searching skills.
Use of Microsoft Office and/or other word processing applications is highly desired.
Ability to remain current in trends related to circulation service responsibilities.
Ability to supervise and train staff in the Circulation area. This includes the planning, organizing, coordinating, and measuring of work activities.
Ability to maintain accurate up-to-date circulation statistics, including the preparation of a monthly report for the Library Director.
Note: Strong computer skills, knowledge and abilities including previous use of an integrated library system, use of various databases and other electronic resources, Internet searching is desired.

Some night and weekend rotation work expected.
