The Auto Finance & Student Loans business offers auto loans indirectly through more than 15,000 auto dealerships and directly to consumers through the branch, phone and internet, and school-certified private student loans to Chase customers.
Commercial Underwriter II for Chase Auto Finance, Dealer Commercial Services. Performs necessary credit analysis, due diligence, and review of documents for new transactions. Monitors/manages ongoing performance/risk of accounts within his/her assigned portfolio under general direction of senior staff. Recognized for strong credit knowledge, policy expertise and analytical abilities. A contributing member of the deal team, managing complex transactions to completion with little or no guidance from immediate manager. Has customer contact and makes recommendations on appropriate credit structure. Has developed knowledge of the specifics related to the business unit products and may serve as a mentor to underwriters and credit analysts.
BA/BBA in Finance, Accounting, or other Business degree, or the equivalent commercial banking/automotive-captive experience. Strong analytical skills supported by good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent PC and financial modeling skills. The candidate assumes individual responsibility and works well in a team environment. Has ability to formulate and articulate objective views based on professional analysis. Typically a minimum of 3 years in commercial banking/lending experience which might include credit, structuring and marketing.
