Accountable for all individual travel market segments (non-wholesale leisure, travel agencies, consortia, local and national corporate, discount packages).
Identify and target prospective customers and new business from the above mentioned markets.
Prepare a monthly Sales Activity Plan that includes summary of all activities.
Keep accurate records of potential customers and follow through on all potential business.
Quote rates and negotiate corporate and consortia rates within established parameters.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with key customers, industry leaders and Global Sales Offices.
Prepare production reports as required by the Director of Leisure Sales.
Make local sales calls and attend industry events and tradeshows. Participate in sites and FAMS.
Schedule effective business trips and appointments within assigned markets.
Participate in prescribed training and special projects.
Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement rate strategies to achieve short and long term goals.
Participate in on-line travel sites to ensure proper placement and maximum marketing opportunities as well as researching “last minute” travel sites to drive business.
Manage travel agent rate pricing and adjust to reflect market conditions.
Bachelor’s degree and /or Hotel Management degree with a minimum of 2 years hospitality sales experience
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
Must be results oriented, have a positive attitude and supportive team based approach towards the attainment of the resort’s short and long-term goals
Must be available to travel for reservations training
Must be available to work flexible days and hours
Must be able to understand and interpret financial data
Must be fluent in Japanese language, both verbal and written
