Position Overview:

This position works independently to provide engineering support to a production plant and performs major project assignments and routine process/maintenance without supervision. The Incumbent must be able to work with all technical resources necessary to complete their assignment, internal and external. Must foster a team environment and provide guidance, knowledge, and resources to peer in the team and facility.

Principal Accountabilities:

This position can perform all routine tasks of a plant engineer such as planning, initiating and managing projects and routine maintenance to improve and maintain the plant. Additionally, the incumbent must provide accurate material, labor and engineering estimates on project and maintenance scopes while ensuring successful completion of documentation for maintenance activities, technical changes and projects under his management. This individual participates in planning the repair and maintenance budget as well as the capital investment budget while monitoring and controlling the costs for activities assigned to them. Provides input and executes improvements in the work practices, efficiency, and tools utilized in the Engineering Team. Must collaborate outside of own work group to share experience and learn.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate must have an intimate understanding of engineering support and work flow with production units and the maintenance functions. This candidate has developed an understanding of initiating plans, and supporting production to assure quality maintenance and timely execution of projects. The incumbent is fully capable of managing budget and schedule for a large project. The incumbent must be able to effectively handle process calculations and process designs to develop projects assigned ($15.0 MM and less), also able to act as the Project Manager on these projects as well. It is preferred that the successful candidate possess a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering with 5 years of plant experience or a M.S. degree in engineering with 1-2 years of plant experience.
