Assignments will include support and management of engineering projects, integrity management projects, operations projects, and other related consulting projects for commercial and federal clients. The position will periodically interface with clients, other contractors, and other companies within the Doyon family of companies. The position will require travel to urban and rural locations in Alaska and outside Alaska.


§ Engineering review, analysis, calculations, and modeling.

§ Works within defined guidelines and judgment/discretion is limited to making preliminary selections and identifying alternatives.

§ Provide support to project managers and technical support to engineering staff on projects.

§ Manage engineering projects of small size and complexity.

§ Plan, develop, organize and complete work deliverables.

§ Develop proposals and cost estimates.

§ Conduct and support client hazards identification.

§ Conduct audits and inspections.

§ Coordinate activities schedule and execution of project phases.

§ Prepare documentation, drawings presentations, reports and worksheets.

§ Perform process safety analysis.

§ Provide applicable documentation and data research.

§ Develop specifications and plans.

§ Operations and maintenance procedure development.

§ Provide field fabrication, construction, and turnaround support.

§ Perform proposal development and cost estimating.


§ This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.


§ Proficiency in the practical application of engineering principles.

§ Knowledge of applicable codes, technical specifications, standards and technology.

§ Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling and estimating.

§ Strong computer skills.

§ Interpersonal communication skills.

§ Ability to work independently.

§ Willingness and ability to travel.


§ B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering.

§ 2 years of professional engineering experience.


§ 2 – 4 years of professional engineering experience.

§ Have or be working towards Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.

§ Working towards Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

§ 2+ years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry.

§ Pipeline design and integrity management experience.

§ Some proficiency with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software and Finite Element Analysis modeling software.

§ Working knowledge of International Building Code (IBC) and ability to apply standards for repair work, modifications, and new construction.

§ Working knowledge of industry related standards, including use of ASME Code, pump calculations, pipe stress analysis, and pipe system material selections.

§ Working knowledge of Aspen.

§ Familiar with API, ANSI, and ASME codes/standards.

§ Technical writing background.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
