The Associate Director for Academic Advising and First Year Experience is a 12-month administrative professional faculty member serving on the leadership team of the University Studies program. The Associate Director will coordinate the University Studiesâ?? First Year Experience program, designed to promote academic success and retention of first-year exploratory and undeclared students. The Associate Director will facilitate the integration of FYE research and practice with the planning and decision-making process of the University Studies program and coordinate all departmental first year experience and learning community initiatives. The Associate Director will report to the Director of the University Academic Advising Center.
- A minimum of a Master's degree in the field of higher education or a related field from an accredited institution â?¢A minimum of a Masterâ??s degree in the field of higher education or a related field from an accredited institution â?¢Ability to apply knowledge and experience of related to student academic success, student persistence, first year experience, and academic advising â?¢Proficiency in MS Office applications, SPSS, and other relevant software â?¢Experience in developing and implementing academic support programs â?¢Capacity to effectively collaborate with staff, faculty, and administrators â?¢Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in relation to confidential and proprietary information â?¢Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
