Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Architecture or related field; Masters degree preferred; will consider extensive, successful experience in lieu of education; Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) required.

Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience in directing the operational activities of areas of responsibility listed in the Position Summary. Minimum 5 years experience in a multi-site environment is preferred. Minimum 5 years experience as the primary hospital contact for accomplishment of capital construction projects is required. Experience must include management of multi-million dollar projects in a hospital environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports to the Executive Director of Facilities, the Director is responsible for leading a 65 FTE, integrated team of dedicated, seasoned, facilities employees serving multiple campuses within the Health System’s service area, including a 1.1 million square foot, 160 acre, 477 bed tertiary care hospital. Director is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the hospital as well as providing support for many of the health system’s owned and leased facilities throughout our 11 county service area. Director leads and coordinates the activities of the Engineering/Maintenance Department, Landscaping/Grounds, In-House Construction, Energy/Utility Management, and Maintenance and Environmental Services for our HealthPark fitness facility. He/she serves as an important and active member of the Facilities Leadership Team. Director shall be responsible to present, review and evaluate energy utilization strategies and cost savings opportunities; shall manage within budget and other operating parameters; shall support all Unit Performance Improvement Committees; shall be a champion of employee and patient safety and the transformation of OMHS into a high reliability organization; shall be continuously working to improve both patient and employee satisfaction.
