Nominations and applications are sought for a distinguished faculty member to fill the Barbara E. Forker Endowed Professorship in the Department of Kinesiology (http://www.kin.hs.iastate.edu/) at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. The holder of the endowed professorship will have a substantial annual stipend for professional and research support. Applications are invited from individuals with expertise in any domain associated with physical activity or exercise, using research models ranging from the cellular to whole organism, and involving animal or human models. The successful applicant will have expertise that complements any of our current faculty interests which include biomechanical, epidemiological, immunological, neuromotor, pedagogical, physiological, psychological, and sociocultural perspectives of physical activity. Selection will be based on the applicant's record of productivity and achievement as well as his or her overall fit within the organization. This person is expected to provide leadership in establishing collaborative research initiatives within the department, college, and university and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate sustained and substantial funding for multidisciplinary research projects.
Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree, current rank of Associate or Full Professor, and success in securing external research funding as demonstrated by grant record.
