Lead business development activities for U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)/Government Loan programs including Branch training, referrals, underwriting and packaging of applications, for Bank of the Cascades. Maintain a high degree of customer service while contributing to the overall success of the Bank. Represent BOTC leadership in the community by serving on local boards and committees with the highest level of professionalism, upholding BOTC Sales-Service-Soundness values.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Act as the SBA/Government Loan program production resource for BOTC Commercial Lenders.
• Collaborate with Business Bankers, Commercial Lenders and other Trusted Advisors through participation in joint calls with SBA prospects/borrowers.
• Act as a resource to Branch lenders on eligibility requests, to identify qualifying borrowers and improve knowledge of SBA/Government Loan Programs.
• Work with BOTC SBA/Government Loan Program Manager on development and maintenance of Bank products and procedures related to SBA/Government Loans.
• Deliver Lender SBA/Government Program training.
• Uphold compliance with all lending requirements based on all SBA standard operating procedures (SOP); act as recommending officer or review and sign off on Loan committee Applications for 7a, 504 and other Government Program loan requests.
• Accept inquiries from customers for government loans; interview loan applicants and obtain necessary information to ensure a complete credit application is obtained.
• Act as the first filter for SBA eligibility compliance on complex transactions, recommending and completing review of other Government Loan applications prior to approval.
• Meet individual production, loan management and other assigned goals.
• Develop strategies to sell SBA and other Government Loan programs to customers and prospects; increase loan portfolio, developing customer/prospect lists within assigned market area.
• Seamlessly refer customers to Trusted Advisors for other BOTC products.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of competitor's products, services and activities in the market area.
• Participate in internal and external training to maintain knowledge of SBA and other Government Program lending activities, Banking compliance, regulations and other training as required.
• Adhere to all BOTC policies and procedures and assist team members as appropriate.
• Represent BOTC to the community and promote a favorable image in all business activities through strong customer relations, business development and community involvement.
• Actively participate in NAGGL as a BOTC representative.
• Provide support and assistance and perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
• BOTC registered MLOs must provide their unique identifier to consumers per BOTC policies. MLOs must follow BOTC procedures for updating their information as necessary, certifying authenticity, and renewing their registration annually.

Experience and Skill Requirements:
• Five to seven years experience in SBA/government program lending.
• Strong credit and analytical skills and extensive knowledge of bank services.
• Possess proven business development skills, knowledge of the overall business marketplace, and a history of successful community involvement.
• Extensive understanding of business and financial fundamentals, with advanced accounting skills, mathematical aptitude and computer spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to professionally and tactfully communicate with others, and present information clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment, establish and maintain effective working relationships with various employees, as well as customers, vendors and business associates.
• Demonstrated effective decision-making and problem solving skills.
• Must be competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications and electronic mail, and various windows based software applications to include, but not limited to, banking application software, word processing, and spread sheet software.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of banking regulations, SBA regulations and government lending programs, and a complete understanding of BOTC credit risk management and Loan Policy.
• Demonstrate willingness to accept progressively complex responsibilities.
• Honor Bank of the Cascades expectations including core values, customer service, dress code.
• Demonstrate acceptable personal financial responsibility and be bondable.

Education / Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Related Field; or an Equivalent Combination of Work Experience and Education

Must become a registered MLO with BOTC. Must update changes in information within 30 days, confirm accuracy of the information, and maintain the registration annually.

Physical Requirements:
• Requires hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and the ability to distinguish letters or symbols.

• Able to regularly stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to verbally communicate effectively with others.
• May be required to push, pull, lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
