JOB SUMMARY

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of departmental technology and database projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Has overall responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to technology projects for cardiovascular surgery and completing them within budget. Ensures that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives. Monitors project activities; ensuring the accurracy, quality, and integrity of the information; and providing consistency in content and 'look and feel' across the department. Ensures compliance with institutional standards where required. Also responsible for annual inventory of capital equipment, computers, and other technology devices.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

' Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline with an information technology focus required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 years of experience leading IT projects

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

' PMI Certification preferred

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

' Ability to manage internal and external development projects from inception to success implementation.

' Strong project coordination skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.

' Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading-edge technology.

' Solid understanding of how to leverage business applications for competitive advantage.

' Solid understanding of current technologies.

' Solid understanding of the software development process.

' Strong analysis, design, and implementation experience with technologies.

' Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings.

' Ability to communicate needs and schedules to IT and clients, as well as ensure that plans are in place and standards are adhered to.

' Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels.

' Ability to operate under a dual reporting relationship.

' Previous healthcare related project management experience required.

' Strong management and development skills needed.

' Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products:
