The Assistant Director of Communications reports to the Director of Communications for Development and Alumni Relations. This is the “go to” person on the creation of e-communications/solicitations within the department; responsible for the creation of content for monthly issues of e-news; and content development and maintenance for the department’s Website. The Assistant Director maintains the department’s social media presence and strategy ( Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, etc.), and is challenged to stay current on electronic media trends. This position creates and implements e-communications for the department and strategizes to effectively drive traffic, market news and events and promote alumni engagement. This position provides statistics on all electronic initiatives to analyze performance and develop strategy. Provide creative support (graphic design) for engagement initiatives. Abilities with photography and video production a plus.
This position supports all of development and alumni relations, but provides primary support to the Holy Cross Fund, the Crusader Athletics Fund, and the Alumni Relations Office.
Bachelor's degree and at least four years experience in communications and marketing. Strong design skills as they relate to Web-based communications and marketing. Ability to synthesize and present ideas and information in a Web-based environment. Experience in designing and maintaining dynamicWeb pages. Demonstration of experience in online and social media. Strong technical background in such areas as FLASH, HTML, XHTML, social networking and online videos. Experience with iModules a plus.
