Do you have a desire to use your professional administrative nursing experience to make a difference on a statewide level? An excellent opportunity exists for a self-starter to join our committed team of health care professionals. The Florida Department of Health (DOH), Division of Children’s Medical Services (CMS) in Tallahassee has an immediate opening for a Registered Nursing Consultant. CMS delivers a comprehensive system of care for children with special health care needs by providing accessible, comprehensive and family-centered care in a medical home setting. Our professional staff of nurses and social workers collaborate with interdisciplinary teams statewide to insure that children with special health care needs are receiving the highest quality of services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with children with complex medical needs and the knowledge of community resources to meet those needs. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with diverse populations and interdisciplinary health care system team members to impact statewide policy and program development. Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills required, as well as the ability to work independently to develop and analyze the needs for improvements in the delivery of services to children with special health care needs and their families. Areas of Concentration: Knowledge of best practice care coordination standards for children with special health care needs. Ability to develop policies and procedures, conduct research and produce reports. Experience working with a medical home model. Experience working within managed systems of care

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: RN licensure (BSN preferred) and ability to travel intermittently for job related duties. Experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel.
