Responsibilities :
GENERAL POSITION DEFINITION:
This role is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for surveillance and optimization of existing wells and facilities for producing shale gas in Shell Appalachia.

PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Facility Engineering Technician role is to provide data management and technical support to the Engineering staff within a Surveillance Team. This individual will be responsible for technical analysis/support,data management,project delivery support,regulatory submissions/requests and general business support.

ACCOUNTABLITIES:
Technical Analysis and Support:
  • Develop I/O functionality with technical software/systems supporting facility design,processing evaluation,real time data,etc …
  • Support preparation,execution and follow-up for facility reviews
  • Support facilities surveillance and optimization projects
  • Verify “as-built” P&ID drawings in the field
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and data displays supporting analytical work
  • Support all phases of Shell Project delivery roadmaps
Data Management:
  • Become familiar with the structure of Shared Drives,Livelink and SharePoint and foster consistent use
  • Assist the Engineering staff with electronic storage of work products and pertinent files
  • Provide data management and integration support to Engineering staff including updates of process schematics,P&ID drawings,etc.
  • Compile well and surface infrastructure data and provide mapping support
  • Support emerging Enterprise Architecture effort with data quality assurance
Regulatory Submissions/Requests:
  • Submit applications/submissions to regulatory agencies with support from Engineering
  • Manage requests from the Regulatory organization and compile required information
General Business Support:
  • Handle Business Metrics and Key Performance Indicator tracking and coordinate team input into other scorecards
  • Work with Finance representative to deliver monthly cost information from SAP in useable format for budget management and project updates/lookbacks
  • Provide administrative support for AFE preparation and approval tracking
  • Provide support to team’s submittal to the Annual Business Plan
SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
  • Process and data management varies and non-standard ways of working introduce inefficiency
  • Job scope and responsibilities will continue to evolve as emerging Enterprise Architecture program improves process and data management
  • Requires flexibility to meet wide range of demands from Engineering staff that may not be co-located
  • Significant growth in production volume and wells/facilities count will occur over next several years

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • High School Graduate, GED or equivalent . Associates/2 year engineering technology degree preferred
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry preferred, but not required
  • Excellent computer skills with familiarity with common oil/gas industry tools/databases preferred
  • Experience with MS Office software required
  • Occasional travel to site locations to gather data and participate in reviews
