EdisonLearning has an excellent opportunity for a Regional VP -Business Development to drive new business and develop strong relationships with School Officials, Community Leaders, State Officials, Parents, State and Local Media.
Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, the Regional VP -Business Development will locate, structure, negotiate and close complex deals in targeted states and communities and ensure that all deals are aligned with Edison services, offerings and mission
Develop and execute state plans that align to the Edison strategic plan
Identify key community leaders and advocates in the pursuit of intervention strategies to correct under performing schools
Highly versed and knowledgeable in NCLB and local state education legislation
Work closely with Edison's Government and Legislative Affairs department
Implement effective solution-selling techniques
Negotiate complex contracts that are aligned to Edison design principles
Collaborate with Edison Financial Analysts, Product Management and Head of Sales to ensure that Edison School design integrity is retained
Independently coordinate seminars, presentations, territory-based communications, and travel requirements
This position requires 50-75% travel.
10+ years experience in complex sales and business development, preferably selling services or outsourcing offerings
BS/BA required; MBA a plus
Demonstrated track record of locating, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex solutions based services and products.
Demonstrated ability to work with abstract concepts and incomplete information, provide recommendations, use of business judgment
Experience and knowledge with the traditional Public and Charter school markets, educational sales experience and knowledge of educational practices, methods and school design components is preferred
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to develop trust-based relationships
Politically savvy and resilient
