Under close supervision, writes technical manuals, agreements and documents for assigned department(s) or divisions. Assists in the technical and promotional communication of ANTHC and CHS programs, operations and services.
Drafts, edits, formats, and develops word processing templates and forms for technical manuals, agreements, correspondence, special review documentation, contract specifications, policies and procedures, and interagency agreements. Creates new technical documents and revises existing documents.
Writes and revises technical documents, assuring content consistency and accurate linkage to operations. Creates, edits, and formats technical documents. Collaborates with technical writing team, department staff, and other agencies to develop content materials. Travels to off-site locations as required. Interviews subject-matter experts and documents relevant information Shoots, edits and prints photographs. Conducts research of technical data.
Develops and updates data systems for tracking the technical document completion process. Assists with divisionwide public relations efforts, including presentations, art work and article submissions. Manages special projects as required. Compiles and analyzes data. Prepares special and recurring reports.
Knowledge of document preparation, design, and layout concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of marketing and communications concepts and techniques.
Knowledge of business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Skill in researching, reading, interpreting and writing technical documentation.
Skill in the design and layout of technical documents, and merging text and graphics.
Skill in working within deadlines to complete projects and assignments.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations.
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
A Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications or related field AND two (2) years of technical writing experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule.
This position requires persistent repetitive movements of the hands, wrists and fingers and the ability to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift approximately 10 pounds. May be required to travel in small planes.
