Performs community outreach, customer service and communications with the Community Redevelopment Districts and HUD eligible neighborhoods.
Examples of Duties:
Assist in the coordination and continuance of the CRA’s customer service program, including general customer requests for CRA/CDBG service areas.
Develop and maintain CRA website and as applicable assist Department with web information
Prepare newsletters, releases and announcements relative to the CRA activities.
Assist with community outreach, neighborhood meetings or other public events to promote Escambia County Community Revelopment Agency.
Assist the Department with general communication needs (ie. fliers, newsletters, remarks and photos); maintain communication with CRA and Department staff assigned to projects; take photographs of CRA events; attend public forum and board meetings as necessary; coordinate CRA survey program to assist in community feedback, including preparing performance measures for analysis.
Plan, track, and promote community events.
Prepare PowerPoints and single page publications, including fliers, brochures and promoting CRA programs;
Assist the Emergency Operations Center ESF 5 in the event of an emergency, providing planning assistance, data gathering and analysis,
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level.
Training and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) ; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Business or related field is preferred.
Valid Florida Operator's License
Public information, media relations and journalism principles and practices;
