Under the Home Health Nursing/Hospice Supervisor, the Enterostomal Therapy Nurse (ET), having advanced nursing education and extensive clinical experience in a specialized area of nursing, possesses the skills and knowledge necessary to provide expert nursing care in the specialized area. The Enterostomal Nurse is available to patients through the provision of nursing care and indirectly through guidance of nursing care provided to others. The nurse is accountable for their practice, which is based on the nursing process and integrated medical principles. The ET nurse provides services to patients of all ages.
Clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing.
Patient education and staff education experience.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
Post-graduate training in an accredited wound, ostomy, continence, nurses education program.
Current PA licensure.
Board certification as Enterostomal Therapy Nurse.
Basic cardiac life support.
