Position Summary:
The major responsibilities of this position are conducting business analysis, project administration, leading projects and testing typically for standard and/or key IT projects to ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget and meet the customers' agreed upon requirements, with minimal supervision and minimal rework. Gather and identify customer requirements to define the best solution that can be delivered. Utilizing standard project management methodologies and tools, this position must set priorities, identify deliverables, and target dates, and provide estimates for project tasks so that customer’s expectations are appropriately set and agreed upon customer requirements met. These tasks must be completed in a timely manner and must integrate with and support the project tasks performed by other groups and divisions using excellent communication and organizational skills.

This position will also be responsible for project planning, reporting and administration. This position may run computer jobs and work with external customers and sales personnel using systems and products knowledge to produce detailed technical specifications provide training and/or provide post implementation support for new and changed systems. Differentiators between roles in this job family are complexity, size and number of projects/accounts managed as defined by the areas in the department.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyze and document the business and functional requirements of standard and/or key IT projects in order to accurately reflect the changes or new ideas that will be the measurable deliverables of the projects.

Create and maintain project plans. Perform a wide variety of project administrative tasks, such as: identifying project risk, issues and critical path, creating excellent project documentation and reporting on project progress to the project team, sponsors and other stakeholders, for standard and/or key projects under minimal supervision, depending upon the complexity of the project/account. Perform these tasks independently, coordinating the work of many team members.

Facilitate meetings and presentations for project teams (internal and external members), preparing in advance, managing the pacing and topics covered, summarizing meeting results and providing notes in writing to document those results. Provide follow-up on outstanding issues and assigned tasks resulting from the meeting or presentation.

Develop an understanding of project processes and tools that along with project experience will allow this position to participate and sometimes lead efforts to either improve existing project processes or to propose new project processes.

Mentor new and less-experienced associates in developing and using project analysis tools and skills to perform analysis and basic project management tasks effectively.

Propose and set new and changed standards based on an in-depth understanding and support of department, division, and company standards. Use existing standards on all tasks where they apply.

In some cases, plan and carry out training for customers and distribute training materials and schedules to ensure that the client is well trained to use the system effectively and efficiently. May do formal training for internal associates.

Ensure effective post implementation support for project and/or products that have been developed to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently and that customers' needs are addressed in a timely manner.

Act as the primary liaison with customers and sales personnel on standard and/or key IT requests, developing an understanding of the customer's business, helping to define business problems and helping to devise solutions to system or product-related problems and issues.

Set up, execute, test and deliver standard and/or key products, jobs and processes to customers in a timely manner ensuring that appropriate standards are followed and customer needs are met.

Manage vendor relationships for outsourced services (services, resources, customer 3rd party vendor, etc) to ensure project deliverables are met.

Develop and maintain knowledge of TU systems and products by investigating their use in solving business problems. This knowledge is used to interface with customers and sales personnel, manage projects and develop and publish detail functional specifications for standard business systems that meet customer requirements and follow TU technical standards.

Track change requests from internal or external sources, accurately recording them and understanding the business need. Help determine the priority of those requests by scheduling and leading discussions between the business and technical associates to determine the urgency and proposed return from the project and comparing that to the estimated cost.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

4 year college degree or comp experience; technology degree a plus.

4+years business or hands-on technology experience required, project lead experience applying project management methodologies required; 2+ years interacting with and/or managing external customer relationships required.

Ability to gather and accurately document detailed customer requirements with minimal supervision.

Credit or financial background preferred, experience in a transaction based industry considered.

At least 2 years working knowledge of TSO, JCL/SQL.

Experience with planning and tracking tool(s) needed; PC proficiency required. Ability to identify technology problems and solutions; experience running database queries; Intermediate Office Suite skills; Proven experience ensuring compliance to business requirements.
