Network Security Engineer, Senior-01130236
Work as a member of the DoD ABIS team to support the continuing development and operations of an enterprise multi-modal biometrics storage and retrieval system. Ensure systems and networks are secured against intrusion and coordinate security needs during the entire development and deployment life cycles of the DoD ABIS system. Maintain responsibility for assessing and auditing networks and operating system environments for security threats and vulnerabilities. Work as a part of a team responsible for maintaining a development and test environment that accurately reflects the operational system’s environment. Provide purchase recommendations regarding new hardware and software to improve system efficiency, performance, and stability.
-Experience with securing network systems, including routers and switches, such as Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA firewalls, and VPN solutions
-Experience with intrusion prevention systems, security information and event management (SEIM), and conducting vulnerability assessments
-Experience with creating and maintaining engineering documentation
-Knowledge of current exploits, appropriate mitigation techniques, network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SAN), and storage appliances
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team and support multiple teams and missions simultaneously
-Top Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree in CS and 9 years of experience with providing security for Windows 2003 and 2008 servers or Linux-based platforms or 13+ years of experience with providing security for Windows 2003 and 2008 servers or Linux-based platforms in lieu of a degree
-Experience with DoD security technical implementation guides (STIGs) and DISA security readiness review (SRR) scripts
-Experience with a secure DoD, DoJ, or government environment
-Experience with administering host based security systems (HBSS) or McAfee ePolicy orchestrator (ePO)
-Experience with applying information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM) updates
-Experience with using DoD common access card (CAC) or two other factor authentication systems
-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
-CISSP or similar Certification
