Job Description

If you are an experienced IT project management professional, and you are looking for an opportunity to work with a leading, enterprise-level healthcare provider, join the Apex Systems team! We are seeking a Healthcare Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the planning, execution and delivery of multiple high-visibility projects covering areas such as claims management, financial and wellness products and HIPAA regulations. You will lead a team of approximately 10 people from both Business and Information Technology areas. This is a contract position (potentially contract-to-hire) for one of the largest HMOs in the nation.

Job Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Project Manager, you will plan, track, measure and report on the status of a variety of projects throughout the entire project development life cycle of each. You will also translate business requirements and technical information in a way that all project participants can understand.
Your specific duties as a Healthcare Project Manager will include:
Coordinating the delivery of multiple projects
Developing cost benefit analyses for the program
Reporting to an executive committee on a regular basis
Creating and reporting program status utilizing a dashboard
Allocating resources across multiple projects
Defining project governance policies and managing the financial concerns of the program
Creating project plans and managing them accordingly
Helping to shape and influence the direction of the program in terms of scope and timing while working with business partners
Maintaining focus on the overall 'big picture' and how to integrate each project within the larger company infrastructure
Creating concept and definition phase deliverables and partnering with solution management resources on both business and IT
Working closely with business and solution resources on lifecycle deliverables
Generating weekly status reports in several formats
Managing project plan and resources in order to track financials and deliverables

Job Requirements

As a Healthcare Project Manager you must be self-motivated and well organized with strong innovation and facilitation skills. You must also have strong analytic and problem-solving skills as well as strong multitasking and time-management skills. It is also vital that you have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to persons across multiple business and technical teams at of varying levels of expertise.

Specific qualifications for the Healthcare Project Manager position include:
Associates degree
OR Bachelors degree in any field
5-7 years project management experience
Demonstrated experience with high-visibility healthcare projects and enterprise-level healthcare providers
Ability to lead projects from inception through deployment
Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines
Excellent implementation skills
Strong vendor management skills
Good partnering skills
Experience with wellness
or incentive related products, preferred
Experience with financial products (HRA, HSA, FSA) preferred
Experience managing projects covering data modeling, data marts, web integration, single sign-on, and third party vendors, preferred
PMP certification, a plus
Experience with a consulting firm, a plus
Big 4 experience, a plus
Experience in Pharmacy Transitions is a huge plus
