      Description
      Northrop Grumman has an immediate opening for a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst to be based in RAF Molesworth, UK. The analyst shall use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other automated tools to analyze relationships between geospatial and all-source intelligence information. Leads project-level analytic teams to create all-source products based on multiple data sources including digital terrain data, multi-spectral methodology developments, data base developments, data transformations, data synthesis, geospatial model development, and analysis. Coordinate, monitor, and integrate valid intelligence while ensuring timely, comprehensive and accurate response. Identify intelligence gaps, specify collection requirements to fill gaps in information evaluate resulting intelligence collected in response to requirements and determine analytical approach. Identify significant trends within assigned subject-matter area and propose new or revised analytical projects to alert decision-makers to new developments and to meet customer requirements. In consultation with senior analysts, develop and/or recommend analytical approaches to problems and situations for which data are incomplete, controversial, or for which no precedent exists.
      Chosen candidates will serve as the geospatial analyst on a small intelligence fusion team that is responsible of the production of intelligence assessments. GIS Analyst will be expected to create robust geospatial analytics to answer challenging intelligence questions, develop novel data visualization techniques, create data from disparate sources, and support dynamic and rapidly changing analytical requirements to meet operational needs. Candidate must be extremely motivated, have strong customer interface skills, and be willing to work in a deadline-driven environment.
      Responsibilities:

      - Focuses on the creation of geospatial analytical methods and techniques to assist in answering intelligence questions. Gathers, creates, analyzes, and manipulates new geospatial data from existing data sets, in order to support analytic techniques. - Participates in the production of analytical assessments with a focus on data visualization techniques and applications. May brief findings as well as explain analytical findings. - Designs, creates, and maintains geospatial databases; supports fellow team members and ensures data is accessible, useable, and searchable. - Assists fellow team members in the instruction of analytical methods and techniques with a focus on assisting analysts with ArcGIS. - Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems, developments/trends in the area of expertise. Person selected May be expected to deploy on a 1 week to 6 month deployment to specific AORs as determined by the Government Task Lead and Contracting Officer Representative (COR). Additionally, candidates must be: * Willing to deploy to live and work in a potential hostile environment as designated by the U.S. Government. * Willing to receive Anthrax, Smallpox and other vaccines as required for the AOR. * Able to function during a level of heightened state of threat, during extended periods of high pressure and stressed. Qualifications Basic Qualifications : - BS with 5 years of experience, 9 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 5 to 9 years of experience with C4ISR Collection Management, Processes and Methods - Must have the capability to read and understand intelligence issues, military affairs, and use GIS to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products to solve problems. - Knowledge and experience with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and photogrammetry. - Knowledge of and experience with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer/Builder, RemoteView, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or some other object oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data. - Must have attended either the Geospatial Intelligence Training Program or equivalent - Knowledge of and experience with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer/Builder, RemoteView, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or some other object oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data. - Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image processing, or regional expertise is also desirable. - Demonstrated knowledge of commercial imagery, products, processes and sensors. - Proficiency in using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Familiarity with electronic publishing and structured authoring software (SGML, HTML, or XML languages). - Familiarity with the following data formats: (e.g., DTED, VPF, CIB, ADRG); NGA imagery and geospatial products, data attribution techniques, - Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights and weekends - Ability to deploy to potentially hazardous locations in the Horn of Africa Region for up to 120 days at a time - TS/SCI clearance Preferred Qualifications : - Proficiency with ArcGIS 9.x and its component extensions, along with the ability to create tailored scripts; working knowledge of ArcIMS and HTML editing; strong data mining and management skills - Demonstrable ability to harness all geospatial tools and techniques with available data to provide relevant and insightful intelligence. - Experience within the AFRICOM AOR and the Horn of Africa - Candidates with recent Tactical, Operational or Strategic experience and at least one combat tour are desirable.
