The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement Office of Public Affairs is looking for a candidate with good communication skills and skill in using standard office and web-design software to upload content to, and maintain, a public web site.
If selected, you will serve as the Web Content Manager and will manage all aspects of the public facing the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Web presence under the direction of the senior public affairs specialist. You will provide leadership and technical direction nationwide for the BSEE web site including management of the content review and publishing process for the web site. Your focus will be on developing and delivering the public message of the agency through the Internet. An understanding of web design, layout, and formatting and familiarity with automated content management systems is required. Located in Jefferson , LA.
This is a permanent, full-time position.

The major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review materials proposed by program web page maintainers to be posted to the public web site through the content management system.
- Provide quality control on all materials to be posted to the public web site.
- Post materials to Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcements (BSEE) public web site in support of BSEEs program offices and office of public affairs. Materials include maps, charts, fact sheets, press releases, speeches, background materials and various other informational materials.
Specialized Experience Requirement:
To qualify for the GS-11 level you must at least have one FULL year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09). Specialized Experience is: demonstrated experience and knowledge of web design, layout, and formatting and familiarity with automated content management systems.
The following tasks are examples of work that meet the specialized experience requirement for this position:
- posting a variety of materials (e.g., maps, charts, fact sheets, press releases, speeches, background materials and various other informational materials) to an organizations public web site;
- collaborating with others to maintain an organizations public facing web pages;
- drafting detailed information pertaining to an organizations public web site to be used in reports and evaluations for management;
- developing information materials that enhance customer and stakeholder understanding of an organizations policies; OR
- posting data to an interactive data center, e-wells, and other databases
Substitution of Appropriate Education For Experience
You may substitute education (education that is directly related) for experience at the GS-11 level if you have achieved:
A Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
