Supervise the utilization of employees and machines throughout the facility, in the manufacture of quality valve components; at or below standard costs and within scheduled production lead times.
Job responsibilities include:
Responsible for maintaining low scrap and rework. Must maintain a safe working environment. Reduce the number of lost time accidents by insuring that all safety, conduct and company policies are being followed. Enforce all attendance guidelines and policies. Implement the monthly production plan and attend production meetings in order to plan and schedule daily production activities. Must communicate all manufacturing plans and dates to the Planner and Scheduler.
Maintain 95% on time shipments and zero past due. Responsible for implementing “Lean” activities that generate cost improvements and savings.
Work with manufacturing engineering to continually develop new manufacturing processes.
Coordinate “Rush” jobs through the plant in order to achieve higher profits and customer satisfaction.
Maintain all areas of the shop interior and exterior with good housekeeping practices and rules.
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering with three to five years experience working with metal machining, welding and heat-treat. Working knowledge of all types of manual and CNC machines, preferred. Previous supervisory and people skills are a must. Will evaluate and consider working experience in lieu of education. Computer literate and ability to use the basic Microsoft Suite software (Word and Excel)
