The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the Customer and end user, as well as implementing systems lifecycle maintenance and modernization plans. We are seeking an LPD Hull Manager to plan, coordinate and execute all Raytheon shipboard work for all LPD ships between delivery and obligation work limiting date (OWLD). The work location for this position is Norfolk, VA. Job Description:
The Hull Manager will have the knowledge and skill sets necessary to support the LPD Program in executing LCEandS Contract activities on all post delivery Hulls. The Hull Manager will be responsible for managing, within the allocated budget and schedule, as the interface to Ships Force and NAVSEA, as follows:
Be the primary technical point of contact for the assigned LPD ship(s) for all authorized work and emergent support necessary to be completed within the period of availability.
Be responsible for all authorized work to ensure proper planning and coordination with the PMS 317 AIT Representative, Integrated Planning Yard, and Raytheon Team
Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and provide on-time delivery to the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), as well as developing the SOW/ TDP /WAF or Industrial support requirements for the planning yard and/or subcontractors.
Coordinate with Raytheon CBTs and IPT Leads to prepare Task Instructions, Basis of Estimates, staffing requirements and spend plans.
Coordinate with the PMS 317 Hull Managers in order to define the scope and schedule of each work package.
Coordinate with Ships Force at all levels in support of shipboard installations, repairs and training, and provide onboard ship supervision of each work task.
Generate and deliver status and progress reports The Hull Manager will actively participate in LCEandS strategic planning related to business growth in obtaining new shipboard and waterfront business opportunities. The successful candidate will have an existing secret clearance, or obtain a secret clearance with an interim clearance within 30 days. You will be open to up to 30% travel.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Required Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or in a related scientific, technology or engineering field, with 6 years of relevant professional experience. - Demonstrated experience in work-planning, tasking, delegation and supervision, and interfacing with and leading engineering personnel assigned to authorized work tasks, and follow through on commitments - Experience in coordinating work across multiple organizations and work locations aboard LPD Class Ships in product deployment and post delivery support - Basic understanding of configuration management functions and data management functions - Working knowledge of the Navy Ship Main Process. - Working knowledge of PC business programs and MS Project - Working knowledge of metrics performance tracking
