Minimum Requirement - Primary Education :
Graduate of a college or university with a master’s degree in rehabilitation, rehabilitation teaching or therapy, guidance and/or counseling, psychology, sociology, orientation and mobility, social work, special education, education with emphasis in vocational counseling or a related field.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in one of the above areas plus two years of professional experience in vocational rehabilitation, vocational assessment, employer relations or rehabilitation technology will substitute for the required master’s degree.

Description of Job Duties
Determines eligibility and provides services to persons with disabilities in other that they may see gainful employment. Collects and evaluates medical, physiological, psychiatric, and vocational reports to determine eligibility. Develops and implements individual plans including assessments, training, technical aids and devices, transportation, and other vocational rehabilitation services. Assesses individuals readiness for employment including functional limitations, skills, interests, education, and abilities. Assesses need for rehabilitation technology. Provides counseling services to consumers. Inputs information into Case Management System. Develops resources and maintains collaborative relationships with public and private entities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying: All candidates who apply and meet the minimum requirements are eligible for placement on the register for hiring consideration.
Characteristics of the Class :
Determines eligibility for persons for vocational rehabilitation services and provides vocational rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities seeking gainful employment; and performs other duties as required.
Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements :
Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Occasional travel will be required to coordinate services between customers and the agency.
