Job Summary:
Our backend stack is: Linux (Gentoo / Ubuntu), NGNIX, MySQL, PHP
Our frontend is: HTML, CSS, Javascript (primarily jQuery)
End-to-end web skills are essential. You should be able to begin with an empty database and create the PHP backend as well as HTML / Javascript frontend and everything else in-between. We know PHP isn’t for everyone, but if you are someone who loves PHP and prefers not to jump on the Python/Ruby bandwagon, then we want to hear from you!
What you'll do:
Develop and maintain web application and web services.
Troubleshoot issues with web server, database, security, network, and web technologies.
Write unit tests and collaborate with QA to develop test cases and useful load/functional tests.
Write accurate, comprehensive and comprehensible system documentation from in-code comments to design documents and end-user documentation.
Other duties may be assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Thorough knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Web Design / Graphics ability is a bonus, though not essential.
Comfortable with all layers of the LNMP stack.
Understanding of web standards and security.
Must thrive in Agile Methodologies (TDD, Scrum) multi-tasking, distributed environment and have a demonstrated ability to schedule and meet deadlines as a strong team player.
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related degree
2+ years software development and integration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
